The overview
How our youngest kids begin, and how that beginning carries them through their first two years of formal school. Our pre-primary year starts in June, and we follow NEP 2020 so children are ready, not rushed : through Nursery, LKG, UKG, and into Grades 1 and 2.

The foundation everything else stands on.
NEP 2020 treats the years from about three to eight as one continuous foundational stage, and ECCE at Tatva follows that structure exactly — Pre-K straight through to Grade 2. Before a child can be curious, compassionate or of strong character, they need a mind that has learned to observe, remember and reason. That is what ECCE builds, through play first, and then gently through structure.
The right age, the right start
We follow the National Education Policy 2020, so children are six years old when they enter Grade 1. As a rough guide: Nursery around 3, LKG/PP-1 around 4, UKG/PP-2 around 5.
Pre-primary academic year begins in June.
A warm student-teacher ratio of about 1:20 in the early years.

What will my child learn in Nursery?
Nursery focuses on helping children become comfortable with school while developing communication, social interaction, movement, curiosity, and familiarity with routines through age-appropriate experiences
What is the difference between LKG and UKG?
Both are part of the early-years journey, but children gradually move towards stronger foundational literacy and numeracy, communication, problem-solving, and independence as they progress towards UKG and Grade 1.

The transition towards Grade 1 involves strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy while helping children develop communication, problem-solving, confidence and increasing independence.
What does learning look like in Grades 1 and 2?
